Same-Day Crowns
A crown, carefully made. Often in a single visit.
Digital scanning and in-office milling have changed what a crown appointment can look like at Vibrant Dentistry — often shortening the process to one visit instead of two. The careful diagnosis, fit, and planning behind the restoration haven't changed at all.
Request an AppointmentThoughtful diagnosis
When a crown is the right answer.
A crown isn't the first option we reach for — it's one of several, considered alongside the specifics of your tooth. A few situations where a crown is commonly part of the conversation:
- A tooth weakened by decay
- A cracked or fractured tooth
- A large existing filling
- A tooth that has had root canal treatment
- Significant wear or structural damage
Not every damaged tooth needs a crown. Which restoration makes sense — and whether a crown is warranted at all — comes out of a careful exam, not a general rule.
What's different
No impressions. No temporary. One visit.
Digital scanning
A wand-style digital scan replaces the traditional tray of impression material, creating a precise three-dimensional image of your tooth without the mess.
In-office design and milling
Your crown is designed and milled right here in the office, rather than sent out to an outside lab and fitted at a later appointment.
Same-day placement
In appropriate cases, the permanent crown can be placed the same day — no temporary, no second appointment.

Our approach
The goal isn't just a faster crown.
Same-day technology changes the pace of treatment, not the philosophy behind it. Our approach to restorative dentistry still starts with preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible and choosing the restoration that fits the individual tooth — not the one that's fastest or easiest to do.
A crown is only recommended when it's genuinely the right fit for what we find. You can see how this approach carries through the rest of our services.
Honest planning
When another approach makes more sense.
Same-day treatment is a good fit for many crown cases, but not all of them. Depending on the tooth and the clinical situation, some cases may call for a different material, a laboratory-fabricated crown, involvement from a specialist, or more than one visit.
That's not a limitation we work around — it's part of planning your treatment thoughtfully. We'll always explain what we see and recommend the approach that fits your tooth, whether or not that happens to be same-day.
The bigger picture
Sometimes a crown is one part of a bigger picture.
A single crown is often a straightforward, contained restoration. Other times, it's one piece of a broader plan — alongside other restorative work, addressing how your whole bite comes together rather than just one tooth.
Either way, that plan starts with the same comprehensive evaluation every new patient receives during the 90-Minute First Visit, so any recommendation is grounded in the full picture of your oral health, not just the tooth that brought you in.
